Watch this site for further information or send inquiries to ioug@ioug.org to be immediately notified of event updates.
- Are the three organizations merging? No - there are no plans to merge these three organizations. With Oracle’s acquisition of PeopleSoft, the groups feel there is great value in leveraging the collective strength of the organizations in a single, collaborative and comprehensive event for the Oracle community. COLLABORATE 06 offers you access to more exhibitors, Oracle representatives and other users. You also have access to more educational sessions, but each organization will still have their own “forum” within the event and will plan educational content and networking activities geared specifically to their respective communities.
- Will each group still be hosting their own annual events? No – each organization will be offering education and networking opportunities jointly at COLLABORATE 06 instead of holding a separate annual event. Therefore, IOUG Live!, OAUG Connection Point ® and the Quest Conference & Expo will not be held separately in addition to COLLABORATE 06.
- Can I access all three organizations’ education/events? Yes – each organization’s members will provide conference information through their native channels (i.e., IOUG Web site; OAUG Web site; Quest Web site). By registering for one event, access to each organization’s educational content and offerings is included . However, you must register directly with your affiliated organization to receive accurate communications pertinent to your product line/area of interest. Online registration will be provided by November 2005 through each organization individually. Please look to the IOUG Web site for more information at www.ioug.org.
- How will this event be different than each group hosting its own event? As in previous years, each group will be holding their own user-driven training. However, attendees will benefit from expanded networking opportunities, access to the full breadth of solutions providers in the exhibit hall and the choice to attend a greater number of educational sessions offered by the other groups. And, you will benefit from a seamless attendee experience including one combined conference program to reference.
- What is a co-located event? Co-location is an industry term to describe multiple, separate events located in the same city and venue over a period of time. The IOUG, the OAUG and Quest will continue to target separate audiences and be marketed independently of one another. However, by joining forces at COLLABORATE 06, there is an opportunity for access to the greater Oracle community and to encourage attendees to leverage this “ultimate customer experience.”
- If I am interested in only database administration topics will I still have as many options? Yes – each group will feature their own education offerings on their respective Web sites for attendees to search for sessions in their specific area of interest. The forum will feature content and tracks specific to Oracle database and applications customers and professionals, in addition to JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications users.
- If I am interested in exhibiting or sponsorship opportunities, who do I contact? If you were a previous exhibitor at the IOUG, OAUG or Quest events, you can contact the same person you have worked with in past years. Exhibit/sponsorship sales contacts are as follows:
IOUG: Scott Narug, Sales Manager: scott_narug@ioug.org
OAUG: Denise Quashie, Conference Manager: dquashie@meetingepectations.com
Quest: Ross Brown, Sales and Exhibit Manager: ross.brown@questdirect.org
- How much will the event cost? For budgeting purposes, plan on early bird rates for members in the range of $1,200 and non-member rates in the range of $1,700. Please check back at www.ioug.org for registration fees to be posted.
