Using Oracle Application Express (formerly HTML DB) to Develop a Production Application System
Tony Jedlinski, Roman, Inc.

This presentation will show you a proven way to quickly develop a system of production Web applications using the HTML DB functionality of your standard Oracle database.

Is your company's Information Systems department challenged by the need to quickly address pending application development requests and deploy secure production applications over the Web without the budget to hire and train new developers? The answer to your needs is a powerful development tool called HTML DB that can be used to build a production system to provide users with easy-to-use applications and dramatically reduce your application development backlog.

By adopting a few conventions and developing a simple menu application, I have successfully used HTML DB for over a year to quickly develop and deploy new production applications for our medium size company. In this presentation, I will share the concepts that have worked for me and can help you increase your IS department's efficiency as well.

Application Express Kick-off SIG Meeting

Oracle Application Express is now recognized throughout the industry as an emerging leader in rapid web application development with diverse and an increasing number of business uses: from the management of database infrastructure information, to project management, to the management of the entire IOUG website. Because of the dramatic growth of the development community focused on Oracle's Application Express, we are creating a SIG specifically for this development tool.
