Don't be a victim of long outages to upgrading Peoplesoft Enterprise? In this technical session, we will cover the challenges DBAs face in a Peoplesoft Enterprise upgrade. This session provides way to stream line the Peoplesoft enterprise upgrade by adding new tasks, modify upgrade templates, and modify SQL statement executed in the data conversion process called by Change Assistant. Discuss detail changes to performance tune your PeopleSoft Enterprise Upgrade environment.

If you're like members of the PeopleSoft Fusion SIG you have many questions about your Fusion migration path. Attend this session and participate in an open dialogue with Oracle to share your concerns and ask your questions. This session will focus on issues facing our three key areas: the DBA or Database Platform, the Developer or Language Set, and the Project Manager or the Tools to upgrade.

PL/SQL in PeopleSoft

Why should you use PL/SQL in a PeopleSoft Environment when you have Application Engine and SQR? Performance! What are the syntax issues in putting PL/SQL in the PeopleSoft database? Now that another language is in the mix how do you deal with what will my DBA say, PeopleSoft upgrade documents will not identify stored procedures, how do you make certain that you are not causing more work for yourself and your DBA during a database upgrade. The presentation will give the attendee examples of templates to embed PL/SQL into SQRs with defined and easy to follow standards. The syntax issues of Application Engine and how to embed PL/SQL will be covered. How to create an external table to store the developer name, date and PL/SQL code so that each time the database is upgraded a SQL script call will be the only added process for the DBA. The presentation will show that utilizing PL/SQL in your PeopleSoft environment will give you more flexibility and the added speed of processing.
