OAUG at IOUG Live! 2004
Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) users will be presenting several sessions during IOUG Live! 2004. These Oracle Applications specific presentations by OAUG members are a living example of the collaboration between Oracle users groups. This collaboration is a sign of the times, demonstrating each group's commitment to delivering relevant and timely educational to the entire Oracle software user community.

On Monday from 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM, Tom will present "Using Analytic Functions."
This session will explore the syntax and concepts behind analytic functions
in SQL. This will be a practical session filled with useful cases and examples.
Then on Tuesday, Tom presents "Read and Write Consistency: from 4:45 PM
- 5:45 PM. In this session, he'll show how SQL statements really are processed,
especially those pesky modification statements. Tom will also explain why that
update that normally takes 10 minutes never finished the other night. You will
be amazed at what really happens under the covers.
Tom Kyte's "Ask Tom" forum on OTN
is extremely popular as are his articles in Oracle Magazine. He is also
a sought after speaker for Oracle events throughout the world. Kyte has worked
for Oracle since 1993. He is a vice president in the Oracle Government, Education,
and Healthcare group and the author of "Effective Oracle by Design" and "Expert
One-on-One: Oracle."
