Plan to attend the always popular Oracle Keynote Address, presented by Oracle's "Dr. DBA" Ken Jacobs, Vice President Product Strategy, Server Technology Division, Oracle Corporation.

At Oracle, he has been a prominent spokesperson for Oracle and an advocate inside the company for customers' interests. He has held a number of technical and management roles for Oracle, including consulting, support, product management and product marketing.

Ken Jacobs is also often a featured speaker at Oracle conferences and events. Known as "Dr. DBA" to thousands of Oracle Database administrators, he discusses technical and business issues relating to developing and deploying database applications.

Each session is literally cramed with content. Review Oracle Exam Cram Schedule and Session Content in this Word document. While the exam will not be offered at IOUG Live! 2004, all Exam Cram attendees will receive a coupon to take the exam at a discounted rate.

At VERITAS Software, he is responsible for all corporate, product and field marketing. Prior to joining VERITAS Software in April 2002, Jeremy Burton served as Senior Vice President of Product & Services Marketing at Oracle Corporation. At Oracle, Jeremy was responsible for marketing all of Oracle’s products, from the Oracle9i Database to the Oracle E-Business Suite. Jeremy also founded the Oracle Technology Network (OTN).

Effective Data Protection Strategies for Oracle: Hear how the Canadian Space Agency is Successfully Addressing Their Growing Data Backup Demands

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) relies heavily on Oracle databases to address the growing needs of both operational and scientific data. The continuing growth and development of the space agency has placed additional demands on the Oracle environment. And with the greater demands on the Oracle environment, CSA required reliable data protection solutions to protect its critical data assets. CSA's needs include all varieties of data protection, from cold backups to hot backups, as well as from network-based to SAN-attached backups in the future. CSA willl share their IT issues, and the solution that they implemented, leveraging the LEGATO NetWorker data protection suite.

Ian Abramson 10g: Upgrade Sooner or Later…That is the Question!

This year’s Closing General Session will be a debate between the Sooner’s and the Later’s, each taking a side on when to upgrade to 10g. The session will be an interactive dialogue that will allow you to join in the debate, voice your opinion and pose your own questions. This debate can help you to make an informed decision upon your return to work. At the end of the session, you will also have an opportunity to mingle with the debate’s participants in a casual setting.
