IOUG Live! 2005 Award Winners

Throughout the week at IOUG Live! 2005, several awards were presented to attendees that were recognized in the IOUG community. Congratulations to the winners of the Chris Wooldridge Award, the SELECT Journal Editor's Choice Award and the Oracle Recognition Award.

During Monday's Opening General Session, Tony Jedlinski, the Executive Editor of SELECT Journal presented the 2004 SELECT Editor's Choice Award to Kirtikumar Deshpande. The award is presented for excellence in a technical article that is published in the IOUG’s SELECT Journal that is voted on by SELECT contributing editors. Deshpande's article, “Oracle9i: Understanding Automatic Undo Management And Flashback Query” was featured in the quarter 4 2004 issue of SELECT Journal.

Michael Abbey presented the Chris Wooldridge Award to IOUG Director of Educational Programs, Ian Abramson. Chris Wooldridge was a devoted volunteer with the IOUG and the award was created in his memory to be given to an IOUG volunteer for outstanding service to the user group community.

The Oracle Recognition Award recipient was announced in Monday's afternoon General Session and presented to James Hobbs for outstanding dedication and service to the IOUG on behalf of Oracle.
