Background
During the 1998 International Oracle Users Group – Americas ( IOUG-A) Conference, it became apparent to many attendees that a forum for the open discussion of issues relating to SAP running on Oracle databases was needed within the IOUG-A framework. During the 1998 IOUG-A Conference, a group of attendees had several informal meetings to exchange ideas and experiences. During one of these meetings, it was suggested that a SAP Special Interest Group (SAP SIG) affiliated with the IOUG-A was desirable.
About the SAP SIG
The SAP SIG will provide a forum of open discussion and education of Oracle related issues associated with SAP running on an Oracle database.
It is recognized that SAP running on Oracle provides additional and different challenges to the administration of an Oracle database. The SAP SIG will also recommend enhancements to both SAP and Oracle.
For more information or specific questions about the SAP SIG, send e-mail to SAPSIG@ioug.org.
Services Provided
