5-Minute Briefing: January 8, 2014
Enterprises are making a greater effort to monitor and audit data for threats to data security, but organizations that are fully security aware—leaders that practice prevention, detection and administrative controls across their data assets—are still in the minority of enterprises, according to a new survey underwritten by Oracle and fielded among IOUG (Independent Oracle Users Group) members. The results of the study, which was conducted by Unisphere Research, a division of Information Today, Inc., are included in the survey report, "Data Security: Leaders vs. Laggards—2013 IOUG Enterprise Data Security Survey."
Oracle is acquiring Responsys, Inc., a provider of enterprise-scale cloud-based B2C (business to consumer) marketing software, for approximately $1.5 billion. According to Oracle, by bringing together Responsys and Oracle Eloqua in the Oracle Marketing Cloud, organizations will be able to drive better customer experiences across marketing interactions and throughout the customer lifecycle from a single platform.
