    Quest Oracle Community and IOUG Join to Create an Integrated User Group Destination for Oracle Apps, Technology and Developer Audiences

    Quest Oracle Community and the Independent Oracle User Group have announced that their Boards of Directors have approved a definitive agreement for IOUG to become a Quest Community.  Under the friendly agreement, Quest will assume responsibility for providing content and services to IOUG’s membership.  

    The expanded community will offer Quest members and their organizations unlimited access to experts across all of the product areas. IOUG database and technology members in return will benefit from extended member support, enhanced year-round member benefits, increased staffing resources, a global presence for international member expansion, expanded corporate resources and additional conference opportunities for speakers, sponsors and partners at INFOCUS, RECONNECT and other Quest programming

    For IOUG Members
    • Pending a member vote for approval, IOUG will be integrated into the Quest organization as the IOUG Database & Technology Community and an IOUG Database and Technology advisory board has been formed to help guide the community transition. 
    • Members will be asked to submit their vote on a resolution to approve the Board motion to transition to this new community.
    • Between March 1 - May 1, IOUG will be working closely with Quest to transition membership information, content and historical information to help support the development of the new community.

    Who is Quest?

    The Quest Oracle Community brings together users across the Oracle product spectrum to network and learn together. Currently supporting Oracle Cloud, JD Edwards and PeopleSoft communities, Quest’s recent digital investments allow it to welcome IOUG in a way that will allow us to maintain our unique identity and sense of community while maintaining our valuable knowledge and content resources.

    Timeline

    When will the new community structure be finalized?

    The agreement has been approved by the Quest and IOUG Boards of Directors. IOUG member voting will open on March 4. The deal is expected to close by May 1. Integration of the IOUG content and community structure will be rolled out in phases across the next several months.

    When do I officially become a member of Quest?

    May 1 is the tentative date for when your membership will officially transfer to Quest.

    How do I know where to go/what to do?

    Quest and IOUG will keep members informed of the community’s progress and next steps via email. Bookmark this page for access to the most current information.

    How long will the IOUG website remain in place?

    The IOUG website will remain in place and accessible until all content has been migrated to the Quest community. We will keep you informed as to which site you should use for general member access. Ultimately the IOUG site will redirect members to the Quest community once the new IOUG experience is live.

    How will the two companies be integrated?

    Over the next several months, Quest and IOUG will work together to integrate content, networks, key Oracle relationships and agreements with vendors.

     

    Membership

    What does this mean for my IOUG membership?

    Your current membership & benefits term will be honored by Quest.

    What if my company is already a member of both IOUG and Quest?

    If your organization has memberships with both user groups, those memberships will eventually be merged; however, currently, all memberships will be added to the system at their current length. When your IOUG membership is due for renewal, you will be merged with the corresponding Quest membership.

    When do I officially become a member of Quest?

    May 1 is the tentative date for when your membership will officially transfer to Quest.

    Other Questions

    What does this change about my COLLABORATE registration?

    Nothing will change for either IOUG or Quest COLLABORATE 19, registrants, except that you’ll have more opportunities to network and learn about the benefits of our new community structure.

    Will the IOUG community retain its name and logo, image?

    IOUG will be rebranded to fit into the family of Quest communities. The IOUG logomark will transition to the legacy-familiar brand color under the Quest logomark. The IOUG name will be branded as the “IOUG Database & Technology Community”

    What does this mean for the IOUG Board and volunteers?

    IOUG’s board members will continue in an advisory capacity for Quest/IOUG operations. All volunteers will have the opportunity to continue volunteering with IOUG and will be contacted about how to continue their involvement.
