John Kanagaraj is an IT Architect at Cisco Systems Inc and resides in the Bay Area in sunny California. He has been working with various flavors of UNIX and Oracle since 1984 as a developer, DBA and system administrator. John is a frequent presenter at IOUG and OAUG and
co-authored Oracle Database 10g: Insider Solutions, published by SAMS. As the executive editor of IOUG’s SELECT Journal, John is always looking forward to developing and mentoring new authors!

Tony Jambu has more than 19 years of Oracle experience as a development DBA and Database Architect. In 2003, he was given a Lifetime Member Award for services to the Australian Oracle Users community; he remains an active committee member of the Australian Oracle Users Group. Jambu has an in-depth working knowledge of Oracle and its breadth of technology. Tony was awarded the “Oracle Consultant of the Year” by Oracle Magazine and “Oracle ACE” by Oracle Corporation for his knowledge and experience in Oracle technology as well as for his technical contribution to the Oracle community.
Contributing Editors
Donald K. Burleson has been a database administrator since the early 1980s, and he has worked on mission-critical Oracle databases for some of the world’s largest and most complex systems. Burleson is a popular Oracle author of more than 30 books, writing the Oracle Press book on High Performance SQL Tuning, and serving as the Series Editor for Rampant TechPress. Burleson is the author of “Oracle Tuning: The Definitive Reference,” and he has Web sites at www.dba-oracle.com and www.remote-dba.net.
Dr. Paul Dorsey is the founder and president of Dulcian, Inc., an Oracle consulting firm specializing in business rules and Web-based application development. He is the chief architect of Dulcian's Business Rules Information Manager (BRIM) tool. Paul is the co-author of seven Oracle Press books on Designer, Database Design, Developer, and JDeveloper, which have been translated into nine languages, as well as the Wiley Press book PL/SQL for Dummies. Paul is an Oracle Fusion Middleware Regional Director. He is the president of the New York Oracle Users' Group and a contributing editor of SELECT Journal. In 2003, Dr. Dorsey was honored by ODTUG as volunteer of the year, in 2001 by IOUG as volunteer of the year, and by Oracle as one of the six initial honorary Oracle 9i Certified Masters. Paul is also the founder and chairperson of the ODTUG Symposium , currently in its seventh year, and the Fusion Java Development SIG.
Arup Nanda (arup@proligence.com) has been an Oracle DBA for more than 13 years, covering all aspects of database administration including modeling, performance tuning, architecture, backup recovery, security, and disaster planning. He is a frequent speaker at many conferences and authored several articles in Oracle TechNet, Oracle Magazine, SELECT, among others; and co-authored two books - Oracle PL/SQL for DBAs (2005, O'Reilly) and Oracle Privacy Security Auditing (2003, Rampant). Recognizing his professional accomplishments and contributions to the user community, Oracle awarded him the DBA of the Year title in 2003.
Andy Rivenes is an Oracle DBA who has been working with Oracle products since 1992. Rivenes has specialized in Oracle Applications systems as well as custom Oracle environments. He has worked for Oracle Corporation and currently works for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an Oracle DBA. Rivenes has given presentations to various user group conferences, the Hotsos 2005 Symposium, and was chairman of the OAUG Database SIG. Rivenes maintains the AppsDBA.com Web site and currently focuses on topics related to Oracle system management. Rivenes is also active in the baseball community and is a certified pitching coach with the National Pitching Association and a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association. April Sims is currently the Database Administrator at Southern Utah University and an Oracle Certified Professional: 8i, 9i, and 10g with a Masters in Business Administration from University of Texas at Dallas.
