What's the big deal about Fusion Middleware?
Here's what our experts are saying

George Trujillo, Trubix, Inc. -
Developing expertise and knowledge in Oracle Fusion Middleware is one of the most important skill sets to acquire in Oracle technology today. As Oracle Fusion Applications roll out, developers are going to need to understand now to customize Oracle applications using Oracle Fusion Middleware. Dependent on the type of customizations made, an Oracle developer may need to have in-depth knowledge to make customizations to Oracle Applications. Oracle Fusion Middleware is
also going to require administrators that can support the Oracle Application Server, Oracle Identity Management and high availability for multi-tiers of an Oracle architecture. Technologists supporting Oracle EBS, Siebel, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Retek, etc. are all going to need to learn Oracle Fusion Middleware for supporting next generation Oracle applications. Developers and DBAs that understand how to Oracle Fusion Middleware are going to be in high demand in these environments.

Brad Brown, TUSC - Fusion is exceptionally important to IOUG members because it is the next-generation development platform for Oracle's customers. I
personally believe that this technology will be a major part of the next computing revolution - one that is able to achieve greater business capabilities from existing technology at lower costs. Not only will all of Oracle's packaged applications use Fusion going forward, but enterprise applications will soon routinely be designed, developed, tested and deployed using Fusion as well. Fusion skills are going to become a hot commodity in the industry, and savvy professionals will be ready to unleash its potential.

John Kanagaraj, DBSoft Inc. -
As Oracle technologists, we can no longer remain hidden in the back room, far away from the Business. With Oracle Fusion Middleware coming onstream in various products and applications including full scale production versions of Oracle E-Business Suite R12, Oracle technologists are now front-and-center in implementing Fusion Middleware based solutions that are the lifeline of nimble organizations. The IOUG Fusion Council is a key portal to this fascinating but confusing world of Oracle Fusion Middleware and applications. Watch this space: This portal is going to be of immense help to you!

John King, King Training Resources -
Oracle has historically been an industry leader: first with the database, early commitment to the internet, pioneering recognition of XML's importance, and now Fusion and Fusion Middleware leading the industry's drive to integration and interoperability. IT has been abuzz concerning the promise of SOA and middleware for several years; Oracle's Fusion Middleware stack provides tools enabling Oracle and its customers to build working systems now. User groups provide the shared and unbiased expertise necessary to help you decipher and implement Oracle's Fusion Middleware offerings.

Steve Lemme, CA -
The Next Frontier - Oracle Fusion
Possibly someone in your company still considers Oracle just a database company. If it is someone in your management chain, it may even be impacting your role without your knowledge. Oracle's Fusion strategy and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)technology continues to alter the role of the Oracle Administrator providing new management challenges as well as career opportunities. Through the user community and groups like the IOUG, you can learn from industry subject matter experts as well as focus on what is important to have managed within your infrastructure after deployment without all the hype.
